Sensory Profile Name Institutional Affiliation Sensory Profile Sensory Stimuli The human body responses to stimuli on a daily basis; different people, also respond differently to stimuli based on a person’s state of health. My routine is not different than that of anyone else. However, we might differ in the way we respond to various stimuli in our environment on a daily basis. For instance, not a day goes without me watching an episode or two of a movie. Nevertheless, I need not stare at the screen for so long as it affects my view of things once I get out of the room. However, I could switch from TV to listening to music once in a while, but with a moderate amount of volume. Although, some situations could force me to turn it much lower/higher to enhance my concentration or distract myself from the outside noises. I also take a walk once in a while, or if the weather does not allow, I walk up and down a fleet of stairs for some exercise. Sensory Profile The processing of stimuli entails, reception of the sensory stimuli, modulation, and integration as well as the organization and coordination of the stimuli. Other than the expected responses, one could have control over their responses to the sensory stimuli. Additionally, one could have a different degree of responses to different situations that lead to the classification of people’s responses into four categories. In Low registration, I scored 25/75, a score associated with how most people respond to stimuli. This shows that sometimes I am slow to respond to stimulus in my environment. E.g., sometimes I get bruises and only realize them later. Whereas, my score in sensation seeking was a bit lower than that of most individuals, having recorded a score of 40/75. This is an indication of my risk averseness more so in sensory responses.
