In that context, the artist agrees to give a percentage of the income of their revenue streams such as the merchandise sales, licensing and placement royalties, advertising revenue and publishing revenue. To be exact, 360 record deals allow companies’ to lay claim to any income stream of the artist and helps them in their development. According to me, the 360 record deals are potentially worthwhile for the artists since the deal covers all their costs. In that, many of the costs required by an artist are covered by the label, and they may even book tours on their behalf which enables them to save on some costs. Moreover, the deal also allows someone to develop fully as an artist since he or she could keep working with you even if your first album is a failure when he or she sees potential in what you are doing. Having access to the best people in the industry can be a reality since the artist will be signed to a major label. The opportunity that is brought about by the best people in the industry is the access of experienced engineers, producers, musicians and a marketing powerhouse. Basically, the label helps an artist by airing their music on radios, managing itineraries and booking tours, as well as finding placement and licensing opportunities.
