RtI APPROACH TO ADDRESS MENTAL HEALTH PROBLEMS Student’s name Institutional affiliation Date Focus: Sports is fun and can improve mood and increase concentration in class. It also helps to reduce stress and depression (Hansel, 1967). Rationale: Since students love sports and are enjoyable. Sports will be used to improve the mood of the students and to increase their concentration in class. Sports will be used to combat negative moods RtI Level I: Each day, the school will have different sports themes. The classes will be named after different sports. The students will be allowed to engage in their favorite sports. The kind of sports that they feel can boost their self-esteem and changes their mood. Students will not be restricted to the particular sport but will be allowed to join what they feel like joining. RtI Level II: In order to help the students develop relationships, and develop confidence in themselves, develop their skills, and to put winning into perspective, the students will be divided into smaller groups depending on which kind of sports they love. The students will form teams for the various sports and practice together. The school will have a sports day where students will be allowed to form teams and compete before their parents. RtI Level III: The winning team will be rewarded by the school, the team will be allowed to participate in competitions outside the school. Each member of the winning team will also be given a trophy. The trophies for the winning teams will be displayed in the school library.
