PR is a form of communication that is strategic and aims to create a mutual and beneficial relationship between firms and the public. The following paper, therefore, discusses the tactics, techniques, and roles in public relation as suggested by various PR specialties (Culbertson & Chen, 2013). Tools refer to the things prepared while tactics are the activities help one achieve their PR objectives such as distributing a media release in raising awareness of o new service or product division. The media release would be distributed among relevant publications in the industry to secure an article about the new venture and reach the target audience. Some of the PR tools and tactics are discussed below; Press releases Information which is communicated through regular TV and radio, magazines local dailies and other mainstream media have a more significant impact than that released through adverts. Press release remains one of the oldest and most utilized useful tool and technique because the audience considers the information trustworthy than that from paid ads. Attending public events PR practitioners take advantage of public events by particular individuals or organizations to attract public attention and opportunities to speak publicly which enables them to engage directly with the event and reach a broader audience indirectly. One may provide statuses on social media networks before the event to update the target audience or even encourage attendees to discuss the event on the networks to create an incentive where the one with most likes or re-tweets gets to win a giveaway.
