Free Pattern Recognition In Diagnoses Coursework Example

PATTERN RECOGNITION IN DIAGNOSES Student’s Name Institutional affiliations Pattern recognition in diagnoses Pattern recognition is a technique that involves a quick understanding of a patient’s challenge in the diagnostic process. It involves an automatic phase of information integration such as the representation of a problem and grouping. I noted that factors like age, gender, initial medication history of the patient and family information play an important role in the diagnosis of diseases because they give me relevant knowledge about a particular infection. Gender is considered during diagnosis because some diseases are limited to a particular gender, for example, prostate cancer affects males only. During my research, I observed that a patient might be suffering from an infection that presents various signs and symptoms while some diseases may have same or closely related symptoms (Brayer et al. 1982. In this case, I will use my experience as a nurse to distinguish such diseases based on the signs and symptoms they present, for example, Malaria and typhoid may have same signs. As a nurse, I am therefore required to use my experience and the historical patterns to differentiate the two diseases before I give out medication. Pattern recognition is important in diagnosis since it is used to differentiate normal patterns from abnormal ones. The ability to perform this differential diagnosis accurately relies on my experience as a nurse. I will also use this technique to determine the appropriate diagnosis to perform depending on the patterns of the prevalent ailment (Mangasarian et al. 1990). Application of pattern recognition enables me to interpret and understand the patterns of a specific disease instead of performing a test that is insignificant and costly. In this process, I can use the signs and symptoms presented to make a comparison with initial patterns of specific disease. References Brayer, J. A. R. A. J., DeMori, R., SL, H. Y. F. K. F....
