Difference between traditional sociological theories and the critical criminologist theories. Name Institution As both a school and a theory, critical criminology points out that crime results from social inequality. The law only rules in favor of the rich people, who break the law but only end up uncaught and unmonitored (MacKInnon 1987). Additionally, the rich tend to break the law which causes more harm than the everyday crime. The law puts more of its effort on the less fortunate people such as drug users and insignificant thieves. According to Marx's consent, employment in today's' organization have become a tool used by those in power to keep those under them in check (Eric 2011). Traditional sociological theories were not good enough at elaborating women behavior, they only relied on the conventional physical image of a woman. Traditional criminology did not pay much attention to women change (liberation) in the society (Eric 2011). Women are becoming more aggressive and competitive in all the fields including; industrial employment not forgetting criminal behaviors. Critical theory was intended to change the traditional theory, by criticizing society for their beliefs including how women were treated and perceived (Eric 2011). Critical theory claim that one's thought should respond to circumstances in accordance with the changing social norms and liberation (Eric 1987). The essence of the critical theory is to help a person develop new thinking ways, which are of a society that is transformed, acquiring the art in the interpretation of specifics with total accuracy (Estrich 1987). On the issue of gender and sex, women in the early days would say yes to man even though they don't feel right about it, they were seen as sex objects (Estrich 1987). Chasity was more celebrated.
