Name: Professor: Course: Date: The role of Americans on the Home Front in WWII The citizen is supporting the war efforts in providing agricultural products for the officers in war. During the war, every American was involved either directly or indirectly. While others fought in the field, those in the home front supported them with the provision of labor for industries involved in the production of war-related materials that were required for war, e.g., warships, aircraft, and armaments to ensure enough supply. Food production; as demand grew, people were allowed to grow agricultural products in their backyards. Nonetheless, the market and pricing were under strict federal control, the citizen in the picture is also seen to serve his role to his nation. People also had to endure a reduction in major products to ensure enough supply to those in the war field. Gasoline, clothes, and meat were rationed while the production of cars, vacuum cleaners, and kitchen appliances were banned until after the war. Universal Declaration of Human Rights The formation of the United Nations was one of the effects of World War II, to oversee adherence to international laws. As a result of the experiences of the Second World War and the previous wars, and with the intent to avoid the occurrence of another universal war; the United Nations took up the Universal Declaration of the Human Rights. This was to sensitize on the inherent human rights of all humans, and hence going to war would be in contravention of the law, and it would hence not go unpunished. Creation of Israel With the fall of the Ottoman Empire, the British took control over Palestine establishing their power in the region. Their control, however, did not minimize the tension between the Arabs and Jews.
